Country singer Annie Bosko says country music can be found anywhere, whether it’s her native Thousand Oaks, the Rustbelt, Europe or the heart of the South.
“I think that the truth is, there are country music fans all over the world,” Bosko said.
“There are amazing country artists who didn’t come from country settings. Shania Twain is from Canada. Keith Urban is from New Zealand. Sometimes country music is about more of what you grew up on and what is in your heart. A lot of times, it’s just what you’re exposed to. To me, it was driving the truck around in the fields listening to country music.”
She’ll expose plenty of her music on New Year’s Day when she performs atop the “Cowgirls Rule” float in the Tournament of Roses Parade. Accompanying Bosko will be a cavalcade of cowgirls, including world champion riders Hailey Kinsel and Brittany Pozzi-Tonozzi. Twenty female riders will flank the 55-foot float.
The Cowboy Channel float is the latest celebration of women in western sports, following the launch of the channel in 2023.
